MORE ABOUT JULIETTE ZELLEKE

Juliette Zelleke is a recent graduate from the University of Trinity St David (UWTSD), Swansea College of Art. Juliette is an enthusiastic new designer/maker with a hunger for creating. Her materials of choices vary between glass, ceramics, and precious metals. She enjoys pushing the boundaries of what is considered pretty or classic, with things and objects that someone might not consider as such, for example her incorporation of insects, animals, and plants that are not very popular. Coming from a very mixed background, Juliette tries to incorporate her experiences and surrounding into her work hoping to spark intrigue and joy from her audience. Her work is usually steeped in symbolism and have a deeper meaning that is not always obvious.
“I am still learning but design has allowed me to explore my spiritual beliefs and cultural influences, and has given me a language to communicate with others, and as I navigate myself through this world, one that can be harsh and hard I hope to show my audience that it can also be beautify and kind even in the little things, and with any luck I will be able to inspire not only myself but other around me.”
